Global Supply Chain Management under Carbon Emission Trading Program Using Mixed Integer Programming and Genetic Algorithm

Authors

Abstract:

In this paper, the transportation problem under the carbon emission trading program ismodelled by mathematical programming and genetic algorithm. Since green supply chain issuesbecome important and new legislations are taken into account, carbon emissions costs are included inthe total costs of the supply chain. The optimisation model has the ability to minimise the total costsand provides the best solutions, which are both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Moreover, a mathematical model and genetic algorithm are used to simulate the developments whencarbon emission costs are changed and when companies are committed penalty charge. Finally, theresult is shown the genetic algorithm technique is feasible in transportation network planning.

A Mixed Integer Linear Programming Model for the Design of Remanufacturing Closed–loop Supply Chain Network

Closed-loop supply chain network design is a critical issue due to its impact on both economic and environmental performances of the supply chain. In this paper, we address the problem of designing a multi-echelon, multi-product and capacitated closed-loop supply chain network. First, a mixed-integer linear programming formulation is developed to maximize the total profit. The main contribution...

A multi objective mixed integer programming model for design of a sustainable meat supply chain network

In the recent decades, rapid population growth has led to the significant increase in food demand. Food supply chain has always been one of the most important and challenging management issues. Product with short age, especially foodstuffs, is the most problematic challenges for supply chain management. These challenges are mainly due to the diversity in the number of these goods, the special n...

Optimizing Inventory Using Genetic Algorithm for Efficient Supply Chain Management

Problem statement: Today, inventory management is considered to be an important field in Supply chain management. Once the efficient and effective management of inventory is carried out throughout the supply chain, service provided to the customer ultimately gets enhanced. Hence, to ensure minimal cost for the supply chain, the determination of the level of inventory to be held at various level...

Genetic Programming Applied to Mixed Integer Programming

We present the application of Genetic Programming (GP) in Branch and Bound (B&B) based Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MIP). The hybrid architecture introduced employs GP as a node selection expression generator: a GP run, embedded into the B&B process, exploits the characteristics of the particular MIP problem being solved, evolving a problem-specific node selection method. The evolved metho...

Optimal Setting Sor Under Frequency Load Shedding Relays Using Mixed Integer Linear Programming

After occurrence of some disturbances in power system that causes the sever imbalance between generation power and electrical load, the power system frequency begins to decrease. To prevent power system frequency instability and stop the frequency decay below the power system allowable frequency limitation, load shedding schemes should be utilized by applying under frequency load shedding relay...
